Have you thought about including your parish as a memorial or part of your estate plans? Often family members are not aware of your intentions. Please consider including the parish that has been a vital part of your life and the school that is very important in the lives of many children. For additional information you can contact the parish office, finance council or parish council members.
Saint Lawrence Parish has endowment accounts set up for memorials, planned giving, and estate giving. The endowments are managed for the parish by the Catholic Foundation of Eastern South Dakota. Approximately 4% of the principal in the account is returned to Saint Lawrence Parish to be used for the stated purpose of the fund. The principal balance cannot be used by the parish, unless a dire need arose. If the parish were to relocate, the funds would follow the members of the parish.

Saint Lawrence Capital Campaign
The Saint Lawrence Capital Campaign was established to provide for the present and future financial needs of our parish facilities. The designated needs will include the physical needs of the parish’s church, school, and rectory. Distributions will be allocated by the Parish Finance Council.
Saint Lawrence School Endowment
Saint Lawrence School is a symbol of the faith of the Catholic families in Milbank area. The school provides the pre-school through sixth grade children of the parish and surrounding community with an opportunity for a Catholic, Christian-values centered education. It is maintained by the subsidy from general parish revenue, tuition payments from families who enroll in the school, and from special gifts for Catholic education.
The Saint Lawrence School Endowment was established to promote, develop and fund the needs of Saint Lawrence School. The designated needs would include tuition assistance, operations, maintenance, expansion, and caring for the general needs of Saint Lawrence School. The annual distributions shall be allocated by the Parish Finance Council for the support of Saint Lawrence School; but the principle fund shall remain intact.
Since its establishment in 2007, the Saint Lawrence School Endowment has acquired nearly $300,000 through successful fundraisers and alumni contributions. Additionally, two other endowments were created to support Saint Lawrence School. Since 2011, these endowments have generated over $145,000 for the school’s general budget to help offset the rising cost of education. Since 2007, the annual Gala has also provided over $215,000 to Saint Lawrence School.
